I get asked about these a lot, so here it is all in one place.
One species, in a family all its own, from the peaty swamps of the far southwest corner of Western Australia. It evolved its pitchers completely independently of Nepenthes and Sarracenia (convergent evolution at its finest).

I prefer the rockwool. It is easier to ship and more resilient to root rot. Happy to send either.

How I grow them
250–350 PPFD · 50% humidity · 70–80°F
Water them like a Nepenthes: moist, but never soaking and never dry. I tray water, let it dry down to damp, then tray water again.
When yours arrives
Some trap loss after shipping is normal. To keep it to a minimum, fill the pitchers with water and bag the plant for a week to cut the transpirational strain, then gradually reintroduce it to your conditions.
About the Grower
I'm Will Ratcliff, a professor of evolutionary biology at Georgia Tech, where my lab studies the evolution of multicellular life. Outside the lab, I grow carnivorous plants with my kids — it's a hobby that sits at the intersection of science, obsession, and a genuine love of weird biology.
I particularly enjoy experimenting with ways to overcome the bottlenecks to fertilization and tinkering with methods to get optimal growth and vigor out of these plants.
